What is a shortcut? : this can be any OUT variable which you don't want a long link for.

What is this for? : For better visual representation of a graph.

When do you need it? : When there's a variable in a graph which is needed by many other blocks in this graph.
If you use a simple variable for that - it's "wires" will clutter all the workspace.
If you use a Local Variable for that - you'll need to add Get-blocks many times.
What's the solution? Use shortcuts!

How to use shorcuts:

Select OUT variable of a block.

1. Press RMB
2. Click "Create shortcut" (set it's name and color)

For the IN variables of any other blocks.

1. Press RMB
2. Click "Connect to shortcut" to open a foldout list.
3. Choose the needed shortcut from the list

It's going to look something like that:

blue, green and red squares around parameters tell you that they are connected to shortcuts or are shorcuts themselves.

If you right click on IN variable with a shortcut attached to it - then you can click "Jump to Source" to find the source of the shortcut or "Disconnect from shortcut" to disconnect from the shorcut.
These buttons are located in "Show shortcut parameters" foldout list.

REMEMBER: Changing the value of the shorcut is only possible in the source LB (Logic Block) where it originates from.
