Move/Share/Copy a script made with Universe

Postby Visionaries 777 » 07 Apr 2011, 07:14

In this tutorial we have 2 project folders:
"Project A"
"Project B"

The idea is to create a script with Universe in the first project (=Project A) then move it in another one (=Project B).
Let's start: I'm in my first project and made a scene with a Universe graph attached on a cube.

As soon as created a .graph appears in VIZIO\ProjectData\Graphs
This file can be used as a template so now let's move it in another project.
The .graph must be first copied in the same folder of the other project (VIZIO\ProjectData\Graphs)
When we click on it the button "Preview UNIVERSE Graph" appears:

Let's click on it:

Now select the Game Object (or many objects) to add this graph then click on the "Save" button in the Universe window menu.
The graph has been now copied on the new object(s) but has lost his variables:

It's then really important to make sure to replace all the missing variables.

Great tutorial!

comments:
  1. UnityEngine.Object or any inhetited from that can't transfer with graph template. If You need it, just export prefab with this graph as package.
  2. Actualy the *.graph files can by placed in any other folder, not only in "VIZIO\ProjectData\Graphs". This folder ("VIZIO\ProjectData\Graphs") are used as default place.
