Hello!

We need to make Universe more friendly to artists, and that's why we need to develop more high-level blocks.
Please, post your ideas here!

I don't know if something like this is already in there, but blocks for Character Animation would be nice.
Artists would be able to quickly check out their animations and transitions using Unity's Animation class without touching any code.

Such functionality already realised in other our upcoming product : Cutscene Editor (will be released in Aprile).
Currently, all standart animation functionality are presented in Universe as in UnityEngine.
We will think in this side. But not in next weeks. We should feel it on our own skins.

What would be great for artists is to have specific LB to make easy bridges between other softwares or/and hardwares like arduino or kinect. In this case the important thing would be to offer an easy and quick way to access any RAW data then be able to work with them in unity through Antares Universe.

Implement 2 simple OSC LB could be a first step because this protocol is quite universal and widely used. One LB to send data and the other one to receive them.

Of course these LB could be done later by the community (like with Virtools) but it could be a strong add-value if they were there since the beginning.

You can do it quick and easy with Universal Wizards
Also, in final release we will add Containers for creating your own LB's without no one line of code.

BTW - We have a special thread about Virtools cloning here : some-virtools-logic-streaming-blocks-t248.html

Being able to connect my arduino and other micro controllers directly to unity with antares(and no coding) would be great!!!!!, I guess this could be a serial com block.

Something else I'm interested in, but may be outside the intended scope is using antares to communicate with grasshopper3d plugin in rhinoceros, and the whole library of their blocks, which are more modeling oriented, .... or some basic 3d algorithms in block form... example: a thicken block, or a smooth block, hole block,

Editor style Camera control (exact replicate )

have been searching the unity forum , but there is not seems to have a good solution to this .

There is of course the "max-style camera control" script in the wiki , which take cares the pan , orbit and zoom pretty well, but the nice "Fly" mode in editor camera is not present .

I am sure this is in high-demand for design-viz people , so this could help Universes reputation among community.

on the other hand : this might better suited for a traditional script approach, so one can easily attached it to the camera object, not sure how the equivalent can be done in universe.

Unify Smart blocks are for you to use in your projects with Universe.

1) Maybe an instantiate block, with parameters for location and range to that origin, speed of respawn.

2) respawn on event, so a block if your character dies then respawn.

More thoughts:

Not sure how much of these apply to me only and which are useful to others:

*blocks to create meshes from points or lines

*blocks to export data as text or xml files

another small useful thing, could be, when selecting a LB, all wires attached to it glow, brighter than they do now, not just the execution wires, but ins and outs as well, easier to follow.

I think I've got a winner! a block to switch a game object to another game object or at least to switch mesh and materials, or maybe between multiple meshes with some parameters.

I'd like to have a LB to enable/disable an array of gameObjects within a single input trigger.

How about UnitySteer 2.2 Logic Blocks?
I have done some low level conversions, but could not get the structure Ticks to play nice with universe.
